Sylvantutch has always been more than just a furniture business. It is a social enterprise, with its core values rooted in a desire to share knowledge and experience with others, and to spread the positive influence of its work.
Our furniture making courses have provided many hundreds of men, women and children, with no previous carpentry experience, with the tools, techniques and inspiration to build their own furniture, as well as enabling a number of successful spin-off furniture businesses.
Learn the art of making rustic furniture using saws, drills, axes and hammers and get accustomed to the different sustainable UK woods and their properties.

All courses include lunch: bring nothing but yourself and some work clothes.
Courses run throughout the year, seven days a week, on a date to suit you. We only ask that you give us a week's notice to prepare the wood. There are several excellent accommodation options around us if you want to stay overnight and explore the area, ranging from yurts, to posh but affordable guesthouses. Send us an email with the dates you would like to attend and if you need help with finding accommodation.

In addition to the courses advertised here, we can also run courses on bigger items, making anything you would like!
